El secretario general del Sindicato de Pescadores de Santa Fe, Juan Carlos Billarreal, fue asesinado este viernes de al menos dos balazos luego de una discusión con pescadores de la región en la localidad santafesina de Puerto Gaboto, a 80 kilómetros de Rosario.
El dirigente murió en el Hospital Granaderos a Caballo de San Lorenzo, al que arribó con dos heridas de armas de fuego. Le disparó un pescador con el que discutió en la vía pública tras una fallida negociación para lograr un plus salarial.
Billarreal se reunió esta mañana con la presidenta comunal de Puerto Gaboto, Sandra Aguirre, para gestionar un aporte económico de $ 1.500 para el sector por las fiestas de fin de año. La petición fue denegada.
Tras el encuentro, Billarreal salió de la sede comunal y cruzó a la plaza principal de la localidad, ubicada en la esquina de Bustinza y Gómez, donde se topó con varios trabajadores que aguardaban novedades de la reunión.
Pero al comunicarles la negativa se entabló un entredicho que fue subiendo de tono. En medio de los reclamos, uno de los trabajadores lo increpó: comenzó a forcejear con él, cruzó algunos golpes de puño, sacó un arma de fuego y terminó disparándole.
El líder sindical recibió al menos dos disparos en la zona de la pierna y la ingle que lo dejaron mal herido. El agresor, antes de escapar, le aplicó un culatazo en la cabeza.
Billarreal fue trasladado al Hospital Federico Meroi de Maciel y luego derivado al sanatorio Granaderos a Caballo. Falleció pasadas las 13.
En el caso intervienen la seccional 12 de Puerto Gaboto y la Fiscalía de San Lorenzo, a cargo de Juan Ledesma, quien ordenó la captura del homicida, identificado por testigos.
